Here at Estier Stud we offer a riding holiday with a difference. We encourage people on our riding holidays to enjoy the use of our stallion who are all calm and friendly and who enjoy nothing more than a days riding throught the hundreds of hectares of forestry land and trails behind the stud. For those less experienced riders we go have other options.
Facilities:
We have an outdoor sandschool which we encourage people to use to get to know their mounts and if hacking everyday isnt your cup of tea we can arrange for top level dressage and showjumping tuition. The natural facilities we have are unbeatable at the bottom of our field are hundreds of km of tracks leading through some of the most beautiful riding and scenery you will see in france, we ride past through the grounds of the chateau de Rochbrune here in Etagnac around some of the huge lakes were the horses can be swum and all with no road work at all.
Riding:
We also understand if you havent ridden for a while the thought of arriving and immediately getting in the saddle for eight hours is a little daunting. So we break you in gently and as much as possible tailor make your holiday to suit you. We can also offer alternatives for non-riders.
After arrival on sunday we ride monday morning and afternoon in 2 sessions and the same on tuesday the horses have the day off on wednesday and then we go for an all day ride on the thursday - hopefully everything will have loosened up by then! Then another 2 sessions on the friday with departure on the saturday. You really can ride as much or as little as you want.
The youngest children we can take is fourteen due to the size of our mounts. But exceptions can be made in special circumstances or for non-riding children with a non riding adult to supervise them.
On a wednesday we give the horses the day off and it gives you a break as well. So you are free to go and look at the local towns and villages or for and look at one of the local historical sights such as the roman baths or the memorial village, car hire can be arranged. Or we can arrange a trip somewhere if everyone is in agreement.
Accomodation:
Our accomodation comprises of 4 double/twin bedrooms, but we have only a maximum of six guests staying at any one time. Each room has Sky TV and tea and coffee making facilities available but we do encourage people to make themselves feel at home in the farm house and use it as they would their own. There is a supplement for single occupancy. All our rooms have views over our land.
If you are coming by car and you would like to bring your dog we are more than happy for them to come and stay downstairs with our dogs. Please enquire for details.
Catering:
All our holidays are full board and we can cater for almost any dietary - vegetarian, vegan, lactose and gluten intolerant. But please let us know in advance and we will do whatever we can to make your stay perfect.
Everyday we offer a full continental or english breakfast, a picnic lunch and a 3 course dinner with all beverages including wine included. With one evening meal included at a local chateau which provides food only from their own farm.
